You can get a cheap weight stand used for $30-40 bucks with a vertical bar holder. New at Walmart also for $50 or so. Takes up about a 2'x2' area.

Bought this for the plates alone... I spent more than this on a barbell at the start of the pandemic. It's a good barbell at least.
