Making it simple:
1) any extender or repeater will cut your speed in at least half since it takes the number of hops to the main hub is now twice than many.
2) using multiple of these will make the overall noise levels and interference between devices much more noticeable.
Use as few of these as possible and make sure you use ones which have the best "channel availability" meaning 2.4 - 5 Ghz or any other backend to help with the loss in repeating the signal.
I would not recommend this device

Get mesh people! Set it and forget it.
the extender does the same. sends 100 things a second, recieves 100 things a second. but they have to send to 50 to the router and 50 to the device(your laptop), and receive 50 from the router and 50 from your laptop. so essentially whatever is connected to the extender is getting half the speed.
and i know im going to get corrected on my explanation, cause its not exact, but it explains it well enough for the layman.
so no, it wont slow down anything connected to the main wifi... just the extended wifi. it will work ok for things like wifi cams, and light switches... if you try to stream or make phone calls on the exteded network, youll run into issues.
also a royal pain... phones and laptops will stay connected to a wifi till it reaches 0 signal. so say you have the extender at your garage. you get home, the first thing your phone sees is the ext. connects to it. then you go in your house, and your phone stays connected to the extender cause its at 5% signal strenth. even though the good wifi is at 98%. so you have garbage speeds that might not even let you get notifications till you manually switch it over to the main wifi.
the extender got me by for a bit, but eventually i went mesh and havent looked back. far more expensive tho(100+ for the cheapest options).
