If you have Paypal Key you can get this to work as a Mastercard Debit funded by the Discover. Opens up lots of opportunities.

Log in to your PayPal account and create the PayPal key. Set the Discover card as the payment method for it. You will have a new "virtual" card number, expiration date, and security code that you enter in just like any other credit/debit.

As previously mentioned, this awesome with PayPal Key linked to your Discover card. You can treat it like a debit card to avoid a lot of fees, and use at places that don't normally accept PayPal (like Amazon), allowing you to get the 5% bonus on the Discover

Well I just tried paying our auto taxes with Key and the message I get is:

"Your Bank did not authorize this transaction. Please validate payment information or use a new payment device. We're Sorry, your attempt to make this payment has failed."

The processor is Point and Pay (with a special frontend for the town but that's the processor and domain).

I don't get ANY messages on Paypal/Key or Discover - the charge is rejected outright for some reason.

Can people confirm if I pay a private party or other people(e.g. Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, Nextdoor purchase), and eat the 3% fee, will I still make the 2% remain?

I am a little surprised that sending money to Friends and Family count too. There is a 3% fee, but still I can make 2% cashback. Has anyone tried it?

Most bills paid via pay pal key and backed by BOFA cash rewards will not count as online purchase. That is all I mean. The other two, Discover and Chase do get the full 5 percent via PPK. Feel free to keep asking ?. I have learned the ropes on this thing.

FYI, I have had some bills show up as online purchase and I got the 3% but I have resorted to just using my Citi Double Cash to avoid the risk of just getting 1%.
