Nice discount for someone wanting it near launch while it's fresh
The Amazon reviews mostly concur with the popular sentiment that the game was rushed, barebones, overpriced for what is on offer, and needs an option to change/turn off the music when actually golfing. Or that it's fun, arcadey joy as delivered in ways only Nintendo can and that it's greatest fun when played with family and friends.
I was really disappointed in this game. The Nintendo 64 version is way better. Only 6 courses. Each has a theme, but none particularly fun. They put unnatural obstacles like giant piranha plants laying across the fairway, but they're easy to avoid. It's like they tried to create something that felt like mini golf with the extra obstacles, but the way it's done is mostly lame and doesn't add much challenge. Each course takes 30 minutes to play, so you will have seen every hole in the game in 3 hours. Obviously intended to be multi player, but even then it's still the same lame courses that will become more of a distraction than a joy, because you can't stop asking yourself "why did they design it this way?" Speed golf is dumb. Each shot you take is worth 30 seconds, which is way too high, then the total time you are running is added to that. There is no point in hurrying. It doesn't take 30 seconds to make it to your next shot. I figured out you're much better off to take good shots and let everyone else hurry. Not sure what they were thinking with this game
