Rocket did not even come close to Ally. No go for me. I may just do a refi with Ally without credits (Amex etc.). At least can get the rate down to 2.75 and see how it goes in future.

I've shopped Rocket and as most are saying they were not competitive on the rates and were unwilling to PriceMatch (PM) other lenders to beat their rates; all of which Better.com was able to do in the past painlessly (feel like they are stricter this time around) and hence the 40 or so posts on this thread vs thousands on the Better.com. Nonetheless its good to have options as some people can hit the sweet spot and get a good deal with Rocket as seen above.

If it means anything; Better/Amex deal credits were posting on average 2 weeks this year. Last year on average it was about 4-6 weeks with Better but so no idea on Rocket but would use that as a gauge.....it does not up to 12-16 weeks or something but if its taking that long then something with your Name/Credit Card etc is not right.

Yea. Even on bankrate, they're nowhere as competitive as some of the lenders, including Better. Sigh…guess I might have to wait 6 months to refi with Better and get the $2k amex. I might still do another refi soon to see if I can get a better rate.

They are useless. I tried couple of times, even after submitting the application (with Full SSN and soft check) they can't give rate quote.....they said they want to do hard pull. I told them to get lost. So be careful with Rocket. I did refi multiple times with better and no hassles at all.

I did refinance in oct/2020 using rocket, didn't know they were offering this bonus from amex. Do you think if I do a refi now on a rental and qualify for the bonus?

Their underwriters are being complete d-bags with dealing with my situation. I'm asset rich but income poor so my DTI is too high for them to rubber stamp my loan. Even. Though. I. Can. Pay. For. This. Loan. With. Just. My. Investment. Income. For. Ever!

Better just won't budge, at all. So I started an app with Rocket. I was immediately flagged with needing to chat with a rep because of my low income but the rep was agreeable to my situation and thinks they can work things out. Obviously we'll see how things progress with rates and everything but I've pretty much given up being able to match the bait and switch rates/credits that Better was advertising. So frustrating. Bout to just say f it and liquidate some stocks and just live mortgage free, but dang with ~2% interest rates it just makes sense to do a cash out and have play money in the market.

Did the better/Amex refi deal and closed couple months ago...unfortunately my rate was a bit higher, even though I paid almost nothing out of pocket at closing and got the 2K credit; if I'd waited a couple more weeks I could have locked in a much lower rate.
I suppose I can't refi with better.com again for at least 6 months after closing? Hoping rates stay this low for a few more months...
