Good luck get in focus pictures when kids running around and you try to manual focus at f/1.2.
its not as hard as you think. I shoot Manual 1.4 Zeiss lens on my Z7 and like most Nikon cameras you can use focus peaking and it works great. That said, This is a very specific lens. The reviews are not terrible but for a Portrait type use its probably an interesting option. This lens is 1/10th of the Nikon version cost wise. So as a Portrait lens with focus peaking I could see it as a nice cheap addition with interesting possibilities as long as you know how to use it.

It's really not but if you used your DOF makings on your barrel, it should not be that difficult to find a range that would consistently keep them in focus. Just find a range that is wide enough, stop the lens down to see the DOF and they will remain in focus along as they stay inside that range width

I'm joking here because it's obviously not the lens for that. Even you use a focus range marked on the barrel, it's hard because kids running around so the distance keeps changing and at f/1.2 (after you stopped down) the DoF is razor thin.
Focus peaking would tell you which eyelash you've focused on, but not which eyelash you should focus on...
That doesnt make sense, that's exactly what it should be doing. It tells you exactly what your point of focus is. What's your point? I determine what eyelash I'm focusing on not the camera. We are talking manual lenses here. What in the world are you talking about.

I'm glad you agree. As for what in the world I was talking about... why not go back up and re-read #10 and #11? Don't worry too much about it; take a little break from the internet

your totally clueless. You need tto understand focus peaking. Your own statement is flawed. You chose the eyelash and make it turn red to show its in focus. Please explain how if your focusing with peak focusing, How you wouldn't set your focus point on the exact plane you want it on. Why would you focus on the wrong eyelash. Guy step back and think about what your saying. You are contradicting yourself.
