I've tried sub-$100 chef's knives by Victorinox, Mercer, and Wusthof, and none of them are even close to this Zwilling. (Just for kicks, I've also tried $150 to $300 knives by newer brands like Dalstrong that have excellent customer reviews, and they're inferior.) I really do think there isn't a chef's knife under $100 that's better for the typical home chef.
Take care,
Tofu Vic
i.e. - I added $0.75 baking soda, which after coupon, came to $60.98 for everything.

Also realize that this is the German quality J.A. Henckles brand.
Henckles International is basically name licensing to Chinese knife factories.
