But, to me, this $5 sim kit seemingly would do the job the cheapest (getting a new number).

when you put other as your carrier, will cause the gift card not added to your order. once you get your service activated on visible, go to customer support chat and tell them you are ported from metrro but the promo was not added to your account. They will create a ticket for that and you have to go back ask for the gift card once you made your second bill payment. make sure to get a copy of last bill statement from metropcs account before activating the line because visible will ask for metropcs bill for you to probe you ported from a eligible carrier. porting from metro is a little bit painful
