ordered three weeks ago, got a price adjustment that saved me $150. Laptop is good. Build quality feels fine for me. It's entirely plastic, but it's a hard plastic. Keyboard doesn't flex too much, which is nice. When everything heats up, the keyboard does get warm, so be aware of that. Overall I am very happy with it.

Not bad I would say. When playing game the keyboard near the front venting is slightly hotter than usual. The rest area is fine. BTW I played world of tanks with highest setting. The temperature monitor showed both CPU and GPU were around 70C.

If I'm ordering directly from the manufacturer, why doesn't this have the option of paying for upgrades before they ship it?! I think that's the deal breaker for me.

I love the pricing, but I've purchased quite a number of Dell's gaming laptops these past five years or so, and I've had substantial issues with each one.
Is this experience only on the Dell G-series? or you've experienced the same on the Alienware series as well?

If you're planning to add a second SSD you might be better off with a different laptop. This one doesn't ship with the necessary bracket to secure the second SSD and I'm on 7 calls and 6 emails with Dell trying to get one. Still not confident it will happen but some folks get what they need first try. Dell support has been terrible and I'm honestly considering returning it because they didn't include parts that can't cost more than 25 cents. This was an issue that Dell admitted to and stated they would included the parts for the second drive going forward; mine did not have the bracket despite the fact that I called and confirmed the bracket was installed with their team before I made the purchase.

If you don't mind paying for it. Amazon have this bracket for $10 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LT8R63T/.
I believe the Alienware m15 R5/R6 model also have this missing bracket problem and uses the same bracket as demonstrated here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbkWIOLL-io

I ordered mine in the last deal and it's still under production. They are saying they can do price adjustment only after it's shipped. They asked me to call back after it is shipped.
I'd cancelled and reorder, this one is ready to ship and will arrive quick. Who knows if they will honor the discount when they ship your order.

Anyone know if the USB-C and/or the HDMI will allow an external monitor to access the dGPU? 20-some minutes of googling didn't clear it up for me, so hoping someone here knows.
Both will, both directly connected to 3060.

Unrelated question: I have a USB-C to DP 1.4 cable and a HDMI 2.1 cable (with an external monitor, of course), which one is better? I've read somewhere that tbe USB-C to DP cable is the better one because it will eliminate the issue of lacking a MUX switch, is thag true? If yes, I should stick to the USB-C to DP cable right?
Both eliminate the MUX issue, and HDMI 2.1 is much faster than DP1.4, but there isn't a lot of HDMI 2.1 monitor out there, DP1.4 is faster then HDMI 2.0...so really depends on your monitor.

Also, Dell already released BIOS v1.3.3 update for G15 5511(11th gen intel version) that provided MUX switch in BIOS. It has been tested and did improve GPU perf a lot. And it is said that Dell will also release one for this AMD version.
