update, ordered three cards. all cards came within three minutes. have since then applied all three to amazon account balance. have already gotten confirmation that all three cards have been applied to my account.
Needed to spend $500 to wrap up a credit card promo, so this was a nice money maker for me.

No u buy balance with debit card. Use the visa number you just as the debit card number. Add balance to exact value of the card. 250. And u r all set, you moved the money from this visa to your Amazon account
