update, ordered three cards. all cards came within three minutes. have since then applied all three to amazon account balance. have already gotten confirmation that all three cards have been applied to my account.
Needed to spend $500 to wrap up a credit card promo, so this was a nice money maker for me.

Created order for 3 cards. Was auto cancelled within 1 minute via an auto reply email saying security screening was not processed. Card was not charged.

Tried to buy 2x$250 with a Metabank prepaid Visa (physical card) and it wouldn't accept that payment method. Switched to Chase Double Cash MC and went through no problem. Delivered in a few minutes.

There are additional comments below the blog with people chiming in same happened to them. Maybe some are fraud, but it's impossible to know. One person says it was resolved for them by contacting Bezos' email.

My account was restored by the account team. It required emailing Jeff Bezos and sending all proof of gift card ownership + anyone having sent gift cards to confirm they were to be used on this account. Took in all about 2 weeks, but got my account restored. It was a lot of work, but glad this is over! i can't say I will keep a large balance ever again!

If it was fraud it wouldn't have been resolved this way. But I suppose they could all be lying. No way to know though.

I don't think you get the benefits, such as extended warranty on electronic purchases, from your credit card if you were to make purchases with VisaVirtual cards.
