It was very tricky at times. I build with my 7yo daughter often and I purposely did this one alone because I felt that it was way above her patience and concentration levels.

There were a few times during this build that required me to go back many pages to make sure everything was done properly. I ended up having to fix quite a few things along the way.

If you're sticking with Technic, start with a smaller set. The race plane is simple and the trucks can take some abuse. She'll definitely need help with the Jeep.

It will fit on the top level of the Technic Car Transporter 42098, but it cannot be secured in place without modifying the transport in some way.

I guess it's OK but $10 off is not tempting enough to get into this expensive build, are there any started technic builds you guys recommend or something bigger but still easier to build around this price?

I did pickup LEGO Technic McLaren Senna GTR 42123; Build and Display Model Building Toy (830 Pieces) from Walmart. More pieces and it's also $40.

Our family have a bunch of lego sets, including Hogwarts. I actually found this set challenging. But I did start building it at 11:00 at night. The nice thing about this build, is that it's a tank. My girls and I would drop it several feet high and it wouldn't break. It's a set we can actually play with.

Slickdeals has an agreement with Lego. All Lego deals no matter how bad go FP. The exception to that are the BM instore YMMV deals, which are of coarse the best deals but are harder to score.
