Amazon has Flowtron BK-40D Electronic Insect Killer / Bug Zapper, 1 Acre Coverage,Black for $40. Seems like a $10 or $15 discount from regular price. Not a FP price but I got one. Hope this helps someone.

Bug zappers kill bugs by the thousands. But there's a problem: They kill the wrong bugs. They are ineffective against mosquitoes and other biting flies, and their otherwise

although amazon claims you are saving $25, in all reality after doing some research you are only saving $6.

Agree... Kills a lot of useful flying bugs. Disrupts the ecosystem. Wish it killed more mosquitos.

I liked the recommendation to just use a fan under the table. I need to look for a weatherproof one.

Wish it killed mosquitoes, roaches and carpenter/crazy ants. We are infested out here!

So is the general consensus that it does not kill mosquitos because that's the only reason I'd buy it 😂 anyone who owns it care to give their quick opinion? Thanks!

I live in Florida and am plagued by mosquitos. Had one of these hanging outside my front door for months... Other comments are correct: these don't work as intended. Sure, it killed a ridiculous amount of bugs, but none of the ones that bothered me.

Look up box fan mosquito trap for a low cost, highly effective way to rid your indoors of mosquitos. Having a few nearby outdoors would be better than one of these zappers, but bug spray seems to unfortunately be my best bet down here in swampland.

This works great for a patio. Haven't been bitten since I started using this method.

I owned one a few years ago. I live next to a massive swamp/marsh. All it did was kill off bugs that bats and other evening creatures eat. I wouldn't call them useful bugs to me, but useful food sources to the frogs, bats and other creatures that keep the ecosystem going. I needed one because the massive number of bugs covering my windows and some finding ways to get in. Used a 100 foot extension cord away from the house. Next morning the entire bug zapper was caked with fried winged bugs and and a big pile on the ground. I didn't see any mosquitos. Blew it out with a air compressor every morning. Ended up giving it away after a month. Mosquitos in my area were still an issue.

They really need to make a unit that does not use these dark lights. An electrified screen the size of a door, ideally. Using Octanol mosquito attractant (there are other types as well) and fly feremones during the day. Can't use CO2 propane attractant due to explosive conditions, but CO2 absolutely attracts certain breeds quickly. Deerflies and horseflies are another issue I wish could be solved.
