I don't know how someone can think that this can trick the car into believing that it doesn't have a problem. If a car has an issue with a sensor, then it has an issue with a sensor and this DOES NOT trick the car into believing anything.
But it looks like someone tricked you into believing that they know how to work on cars. Please let someone else work on your car for you!

any experience with AliExpress version?
I use Torque pro as well. I've only used it on older cars, nothing newer than 2006 if it matters.
What cars? Where are you seeing this? Do these people have fuses in their cars fusebox? I have doubts.

The car has to have OBD2 port in order to operate this scanner properly.

It's mostly ones leaving it in the port which even according to Scotty is a bad idea since it was designed to be a scanner tool not plug in and leave reader. I wouldn't take a chance on screwing up cars computer (just in case) by leaving it in the port constantly connected but that's just my opinion.
