Considering the form factor, there is no open slot for an additional SSD, is there?

I need a traveling laptop that can make do on the road. If I have to carry around an external SSD plus a USB Ethernet port dongle, then so be it.

A second SATA drive can be installed through a hatch on the back without taking the whole back off.

As far as I know, Acer still owns the Gateway brand. EVOO builds these PCs using the licensed brand name from Acer.

I bought this one a few months back. Still running great. My wife uses it for The Sims 4 all the time, can run the game on medium high settings just fine. Tried Resident Evil 2 and it can run mostly 30fps in 720p on medium

Not even remotely correct. Many notebook makes and models provide an SODIMM slot for RAM expansion (in addition to whatever amount is soldered onto the motherboard).
