It is like everything in the world, some people don't like spending the time researching for a sale and saving money. They feel their time is worth money. And then there are some people who don't necessarily want to buy their kids the cheapest folders or pencils or erasers.

And of course, there are the people in society who really have no clue how to save money. I mean, I read an article from USA Today on how to save money on grocery shopping and the tip was "To cut your grocery costs, the simplest approach is to learn the sales cycle. Typically, items go on sale about every six to eight weeks. When an item you often use has a price drop, don't just buy one -- buy enough to last until it goes on sale again. If you eat one frozen pizza a week and it hits rock-bottom prices every six weeks, buy six to stick in your freezer when it's on sale so you never have to pay full price."

Yep, USA Today believes there are actually people who can't figure that out on their own.

Basically, yes. Staples is offering free shipping for the first 3 months after signup. After that, there are spend levels to hit for the free shipping. Hope this makes sense.

That sucks. I guess I'll create new junk accounts each buy. Or just not buy.

Depends on the item, I personally stocked up on the $0.50 crayola crayons, $0.50 sharpeners, $1.00 pencil cases because those are the lowest I have seen shipped in some time. I added some $1.00 crayola colored pencils and $1.00 crayola markers to reach free shipping. But in general I agree, I have seen notebooks and other items cheaper before. All of these items (especially the crayola items) are similarly priced at Walmart, but Walmart doesn't have all the items I wanted in stock for shipping.

Hopefully every parent and teacher sees this, so we don't have to go through the same yearly story of "I spent $500 on school supplies for my students.

FOX Phoenix went to a teacher's rally in 2016. A father of one of the teachers said that his daughter had borrowed over $12,000 from him, over 5 years, for school supplies for her students. And he actually believed it.
It's sad you had to take time out of your day just to hate on teachers.

Thanks. Screw Walmart. I created a new account for the free shipping and ordered a bunch of those TRU RED Comp Notebooks. I bought a couple last sale and liked them so much I ordered 7 more in various colors. At only $0.50 a pc, the whole order was only $3.50 + tax.

Great deal, repped.

Walmart has two-pocket folders for as low as $.14 each at my store if you are lucky enough to find them. They are two-pocket folders without prongs. The ones I found are pen+GEAR brand. They are red and the UPC is 4 897014 102884. W2PES-RV.
