Not that great of a deal. Best Buy is selling this bundle for $800. You are only saving $40 here due to needing Costco membership.

How about the fact for the ones that have membership, like... most of us? $100 saving isn't too shabby over BB, but the bigger perk IMHO is the fact you can return it after 90 days vs 15 days at BB (unless you're an elite member which extends it to 30 days)... plus you get a free pen. Not a bad deal, thumbs up.

You have 90 days to test drive and return the unit if you're lap burns too much from the heat generated, which is a number one reason many folks don't like the unit as heat shortens the life of the unit and its battery.

Does the Best Buy bundle come with the pen as well?

Wow that's disappointing to hear, I have a sluggy Gen 1 Go that I was hoping to upgrade to this but never heard about the major issues like overheating. I can understand since the processor is more powerful.

The best buy bundle also doesn't include the surface pen which retails for around $70.

Does anyone know if it is possible to conveniently upgrade the SSD and the RAM yourself without voiding the warranty or any other negative consequences like that?

Unfortunately not - both are soldered on.The Pro 7+ does allow SSD upgrades.

i bought this model when it was new and full price and it's still my main portable. It's my main Adobe machine (InDesign for layout design, Lightroom and Photoshop for photography, Audition for audio). Heck, I'll even do some light Premiere Pro video editing on it (though my 64GB Ryzen with Nvidia desktop is my 8k and 4k video editor).

I also do all my artwork on it. Clip Studio Paint is so perfect for the Surface Pro line. You have full touch. things like pinch to zoom or rotate the canvas. Great pen support. Plus, its interface is very similar to Photoshop which makes the transition very easy.

My Microsoft 365 is mainly done on this machine with Excel and Word. Though my big spreadsheets are also done on my 64GB machine. I even have a 85MB spreadsheet that takes up 28GB of RAM all by itself (yes, there are tons of formulas in it and lots of VLOOKUP).

All that said, I do look forward to what the Surface Pro 8 might offer. I hope for a Ryzen option though it's looking less and less likely. The new Xe graphics sound promising though the CPU part seems a minor change from the 10th gen processor in the SP7. While it would be nice to play some Xbox games on my SP7, I prefer playing on my Xbox Series X with LG 55CX Tv or my PC with 32" HDR 4K monitor.

Last week when i went to BB, I was surprised to see bunch or Surface pro as open item/Return. Why these have highest return compare to others?

I know these are more for productivity with Windows, but how do they compare to a regular tablet for media consumption? Mostly web browsing, Youtube etc. Or is it overkill? Bezels are still a little on the large side. Seems like OK price for nice'sh tablet with keyboard and pen no?
