I have this waffle maker. It works well. Nothing too exceptional. If you spray it enough, you usually don't have to clean it beyond a quick wipe down. This is about the right price point.
I would suggest one with easily removable plates for better cleanup
have the rectangular one of the same brand. love it and use it every week. quick tip: to clean it, pour some water and start it for few mins and the drain the water and wipe with dry paper towel. wet this paper towel for cleaning overflow and reuse this towel while it is leaking, dried batter will stuck in gaps and once it dries and will be difficult to clean. also flip the plates only when you feel the batter has solidifed. brush oil thoroughly on the plates, and pour some oil in batter, that makes sure that waffle will come out clean and easily.

Which ones do you suggest that have removable plates?

I learned the hard way not purchase any Bella "Non-Stick" product.
Why? Have a similar bella product and it's worked fine for years. No deterioration of the nonstick coating and the waffles don't really stick either. Though I don't exactly make the regular waffles from pancake or waffle mixes. Have a more expensive waffle maker but this one has been easier to use.

We have had ours for about 4 years and completely agree. Like all waffle-makers I've used, when the "it's ready to flip" light comes on, we wait about a minute afterwards. We frequently cook an assortment of regular, gluten-free, and keto pancakes. All work well with it, and we're really happy. Non-stick is still non-stick, and the cleanup is fine as well.

Thing broke the second time I used it (plastic that holds the opposite handle side up). Don't recommend.

It's alright.. the locking mechanism and the light to alert you to flip is defective on mine. Only used it a handful of times too..I bought this a few years ago for 10 and it came with an insignia Google home

I haven't used this stainless steel version, but I do have the all-black model and it works great. I recommend skipping the stainless steel since it does NOT have temperature adjustment…especially if you like your Belgian waffles with a crisp.

I see a lot of concerns with sticking, washing with damp cloth or water, etc., but I highly recommend against it unless absolutely necessary. Before EACH waffle use a silicon brush and a "high smoke point" oil like avocado oil, and lightly brush both top and bottom plates. To remove cooked waffle only open slightly and use a fork to help the waffle loose if stuck to top plate. For cleanup just wait until cool and clean with lightly oiled paper towel—treat the same as a good cast iron skillet.

Lastly, not all waffle/pancake mix is the same i.e. Bisquik has too much baking powder, which can cause the waffle maker to overflow…..Members Mark (Sams Club brand) makes subpar pancakes but amazing waffles! I'm not here to discuss healthy options =P

I also have this waffle maker and agree with this comment. I find it easy to use and easy to clean. Well worth $15

I had this one a long time ago, I liked it much better than the presto flip side or whatever it's called. The heating element gets hotter, and is possibly more even (maybe just hotter, but distributes the heat well so that it makes it act as more even too).

I liked it a lot, until something happened to the hinge area or the handle area, I forgot which one. I returned it to the store I bought it from and have just settled for the presto until I can find a good deal on a very nice higher end one.

Because I won't eat pancakes. Death to pancakes.
