I use this type of ladder at least once a week getting stuff up/down from my storage in my garage. Incredibly fast and compact. However, you must be very careful when going up and down it as it's not as stable as traditional ladders. If you lean too left or right when at the top it can tip in that direction. If the ladder is too vertical, it can tip backwards when climbing. If you're careful and patient, you should be fine.

Also, careful of your fingers when breaking the ladder back down to its compact size!

Edit: oh it's pinch free! Slowly breaks back down so you don't crush your fingers, I might just have to get this as a replacement...

if it was Harbor freight knockoff I'd buy.. random Chinese seller brand on amazon no thanks.

Costco is known for their quality products so I'd probably trust this with my life.. oh wait on a ladder you do.

I had a werner type 2(225lb) 6ft traditional stepladder collapse on me leg folded under.. medical bills were over $34000, lost wages around 10-12k I weighed under 180 at the time.
Still have plates and screws.

Cheaping out on ladder can cost you reverse lottery ticket style.

That drive to the hospital with bones sticking out in odd places with a stick shift forester was something you dont forget.. luckily level 3 trauma hospital 1.5miles away.

the 10" and 12" surgery scars are a good reminder to have common sense too.

I personally wouldn't trust some random brand with a ladder especially without any reviews. Cosco is a solid brand and I have a few of their products like a stepladder and dolly.

Never had one of these type of ladders but was thinking about picking one up. How does this one stack up to the one posted. It's a lot cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098T39...03&sr=8-13

I have a little giant ladder, which is great for big items but is not very practical for small jobs since it is so heavy. This might be a good alternative at about 1/3 the weight with a minimal footprint.

how do you know that's not the same as the Cosco ladder rebranded?
The muscular dude in the photos looks very comfortable putting up those curtains while on the ladder.

Cosco is a division of Dorel. Dorel is very protective of their IP.

I don't know if you mistyped, but the ops ladder is a Cosco brand not Costco.

Your accident is why I don't go up on ladders.

If you look at the captions In one of the pictures, the muscular dude is " repairing ceiling light" And only has a hammer apparently hitting it! Just because he's comfortable on a ladder, doesn't mean he should be!

Wow. Thanks for sharing your story. Any advice on how to avoid that situation? You were using a very trusted brand in ladders. How did it just bend like that?

I work in a level 1 trauma center (the highest acuity) and I see accidents like that all the time. Yesterday an 80 year old man on blood thinners came in after falling from a ladder. Please be sensible and safe.

Thumbs down for not being a good product.

Anyone professional using this gets kicked off the job site instantly. No matter how big or small the job is, do not cheap out on your safety.

I get that the biggest selling point of this thing is the footprint when collapsed, but those rungs are so narrow I can't imagine they'd be comfortable to stand on for longer than a few seconds.

Little giant makes a collapsible 3-step ladder that's my go-to for indoor projects that require a ladder (lighting/painting, generally). It's a Little Giant 11903. 375lb capacity. Very sturdy. Small footprint when collapsed. Can be had for around $100 (less if you find one from Amazon Warehouse). With 8 foot ceilings this ladder would serve you very well, and very safe.

Some may argue that this ladder allows you to go much higher than a 3-step ladder. If you climb this flimsy ladder higher than three steps then may the force be with you, young Jedi.
