Patently false
Reputable manufacturers specify the luminosity according to the ISO 21118 standard. Projectors on Amazon selling for ~$100 post luminosity figures without specifying conditions. In other words, they're marketing BS.
Also, resolution and brightness (whether falsified or accurate) are not the only metrics that determine a good image.
If you can point me to a ~$100 projector that is 1080p+ native and has more than 2500 lumens according to the ANSI or ISO 21118 standard, I'll eat my words and consider buying you a beverage. Otherwise, please stop trolling.

Nope. I've used both. And I own the one from Amazon. Works exactly the same for a fraction of the cost. Why would anyone pay $500 for 2500 lumen? You can get 7000+ lumen for $100 with wifi mirroring. This projector is trash, everyone knows it. Either go for the $100-200 projectors from Amazon or go $2000 for ultra short throw 4K which I also own.
Brightness is definitely the only thing the matters. Listen to this guy people, this guy is smart. Lumen output is the only thing factor is image quality that matters. No debate there. Thanks for your help dude. I will make sure to follow you for quality AV advice moving forward. Anything else you want to pass along to us?

This 2500 with LCD is much better than 3000 DLP projectors. I have been using in my living room for 3 years. Absolutely love it. Just upgraded to Epson 3800.
Is epson 3800 worth the upgrade from 2150 to 3800?

For those that my actually fall into the trap of listening to this fool here is a link that actually compares a cheap Amazon projector, a Vankyo, to a very comparable projector to this Epson, the BenQ TH585. Actually, the Epson 2150 is better than the BenQ. https://www.projectorreviews.com/...on-review/

Damani, if you think that those 7000 lumens from those Amazon projectors are real then I've got some air to sell you.

Great deal, only issue is the fan noise. The specs are better than my main projector so unless you're using 4K content or stuff with a lot of dark scene (a show like Gothan will have a lot of black background that will get crushed) you should be pretty happy.

I second this. Just upgraded to 3800 from 2150. Much brighter and sharper.

Link ? Is the quality the same

No, they are talking out of their behind. Cheapo LED projectors are ok for kid sleepovers and Halloween projections (Atmosfx) and that's about it.

Yes the fan noise. If you just do cinema mode or eco than it's silent. Are the other higher models quieter on the bright settings?

I love it. I can use it during the day against a 120" screen. It was a huge leap from the 2045 in overall picture quality and usability. At $650 [epson.com] I think it represents the best value for money of all the Epson clearance projectors. And if you're a heavy user the OEM lamps are just $99 directly from Epson.
Wow, this! Missed it on the clearance center while it's arguably an older projector vs the 2150 but unless someone needs the wireless stuff that the 2150 has is an amazing deal that has the same (if not a dash lower) input lag for gaming vs the 2150, has more lens shift for placement, and better optics (though as noted, is physically larger.) If any shoppers can toss the extra 45% at a PJ, the 3700 will definitely keep you happy for quite awhile until you move to 4k and is even more of a light cannon with some reviews measuring more than the claimed 3k lumens in dynamic mode Wink

(Edit: 2 yrs later after discontinuing the PJ the lamp is now $59 shipped from Epson)
Great 1080p projector for rooms that are not light controlled, it's a light cannon. I've noticed you get some flickering before the lamp fully goes out so you'll replace them more frequently however the lamps are much cheaper than any other projector I've seen ($59 shipped from Epson) They go out of stock fairly regularly so keep one on hand... It's even acceptable for casual FPS gaming (for a projector) bought it for $700 new 2 yrs ago and have no regrets.

Reviews like is what I've always wanted ❤.... someone who will use it as a game/TV replacement and enjoy the size and quality during use.
