We've had to send ours in twice for service, but still love it. First time the grinder failed and we got a new machine, the second time an oring failed and there was only a tiny amount of water added to drinks. Repairs take 2-4 weeks and they pay shipping. Both times fixed under warranty. Before that, we had a Breville that lasted 8 years before developing similar issues.

Time will tell, get an extended warranty and do the weekly maintenance, but we still like the Lattego better.

I honestly haven't even compared resale value of the two machines but look and see which is really the better value

You're missing the point, my friend. Some people don't have the time to spend 15 minutes manually making a fresh espresso, latte, or cappuccino every morning. This machine gives you a perfectly acceptable caffeinated beverage of your choice with a simple push of a button. Could it be better with more time and effort (manual grinding, tamping, frothing, etc.)? Sure. My garden tomatoes are better than store-bought, but I'm not building a greenhouse so I can have fresh tomatoes all year round. Got to pick your battles.

BTW, I have this machine, paid a little over $700 for it during COVID and well worth the money.

You must not have (young) kids. One touch convenience means a lot-especially when you have twin 4 year olds like me. I'm willing to make the trade off for less than 100% perfect espresso for pressing one button.

I am not answering this, I just want to say that I have exactly the same question. I want a good espresso shot but from a with an automatic machine. I had the Breville Barista 807XL and I had to return it because I spent a lot of coffee figuring out the coarse, etc. For each brand of coffee and my wife couldn't use it because it was too complicated for her. I want something simpler but at the same time a machine that gives you a good shot of espresso with nice crema. I looked at Jura but they are just too expensive.

I'm in for one. Thanks OP. I would suggest checking out the Carina as well. It's very similar, but without the auto latte piece. $499 - 20% = $399.

Go the Breville Oracle for her. It makes everything simple and mess free 😊

Wife and I have been using ours every day since I got ours in December. It makes at least six shots a day, most of them mid-telecon where it's fantastic to be able to walk into the kitchen wearing wireless headphones, push a button and come back a minute later to a better drink than I was getting from the coffee carts at work. Don't have to miss a word of the call and can always chime in, because I'm not standing around a grinder, frother, or during the drawing process.

As for price vs Nespresso, we're at ~6x180 days, so even if Nespresso was $0.50 a capsule, we'd have dropped $540 on pods, not including the time we'd have to spend frothing.

I'll agree the straight up espresso isn't as good as you can make with other machines (honestly why I'm drinking more milk-based drinks now), but the convenience is fantastic if you're looking for something easier than instant coffee.

I got on AWD Like New with a Slick 20% off coupon for $380 and it's 3 years running perfect. It has been an amazing machine after Krups and Spidem machines.

IMO the milk container is a gimmick that adds to the price. You need to clean the machine after. Just get a nice stainless steel frothing pitcher for $10.

On these remember to always use the medium roast, as the dark roast will gum up the grinder. I run all Lavazza or Italian beans I pick up at Home Goods running $8-10/kilo. I also use a Berkey so I don't use the filter.

I bought a refurb from Amazon but had to return it as i like my drinks hot and this damned thing isnt hot for my taste.

If you drink low to medium hot, then this is an amazing machine. Like the drinks it made and they tasted good as well.

This looks pretty awesome for an automated machine. But I personally like the ritual of making drinks.

RyanJ7344Because some people just prefer the one button convenience of a super auto, even if it's not Italian coffee aficionado quality, its good enough for many - and better than a Mr. coffee or single use pods.

I paid $700 for convenience, and like I said, I can leave the house immediately without any cleanup. None.
