For those thinking of using this for mining (or reselling the graphics card), beware the 3080 is crippled/locked for crypto mining.

Prices are dropping like a rock for 3080s in my local classifieds. A month ago you couldn't find one listed for less than $1900; now I see a bunch for $1400 or less, which is still overpriced.

Why? Performance is about equal. The base speed on the 11th gen is slower, but boost is higher. Memory bandwidth is higher, PCI-e 4.0, etc. Not saying one is far superior to the other but just odd. Even more odd to have a standard 2.5" SSD at this price point.

Maybe people are realizing they are no good for mining and can't be resold for insane prices.

How's it crippled? Is this recent? I've only heard such for other models but never the 3080

I noticed the specs say that it's "liquid cooling" but based on the picture it looks like a fan cooler.

This is May peak-of-the-gouging level pricing for this 3080 system and you're not even getting an Asus or EVGA card. 10700KF and SATA SSD lol. This is a terrible price.

Prices have been steadily falling for the past few weeks. You currently can currently buy a scalped 3080 and build a better system for cheaper or buy pre-built without gpu and add a scalped 3080 for cheaper. In a few weeks this will be even less costly to do.
