Most big name (Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ect..) budget pre-built computers like this come with propriety cases, PSU, and motherboards now a days. Everything else are standard size parts (CPU, drives, fans, graphics cards, RAM, ect..) and can be easily upgraded/replaced/swapped.

This Dell system would be a great fit, for home, office, students, coders, CAD, miners, video editors, graphic designers, and even casual gamers. Pretty much everyone except hardcore PC gamer enthusiast that like to build and maintain their own high-end $2000+ systems.

We have 3 of the G5 systems reviewed in that Gamers Nexus video. Ours have GTX1660 graphics cards, 10400F, 500w PS, 16GB ram, and a clean install of Windows 10. All are performing very well and we have not seen any heat or performance issues. My kids play the newest games on them daily (Doom Eternal, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Madden, HOI4, ect.) While simultaneously having YouTube open, a couple web pages, and messenger programs. I feel as though the build quality was quite good for the price I paid. I could not be more satisfied with our purchase.

If you are just an normal person (like 98% of the population) that wants to get a good deal on a good PC that will probably never be opened, and the only real maintenance you do is reinstall Windows ever couple of years to clean the system up. Then this system is perfect for you, and will serve you well for many years to come.

Yeah I think this is the right answer for me. Sucks but it's better to spend the 50 bucks and keep my sanity than to try to move everything to another case. Thanks. Still giving the middle finger to Dell for doing this lol. Some guy mentioned to keep the panel off and honestly might not be bad idea! Dust would become an issue but I don't see any dust filters on this thing either so does it really matter?

What do you mean by that? Is that having same case as 8740? And I can remove the existing drive and the 3.5 drive bay below it and it'll fit?

Rather go with HP's Pavilion with Ryzen 7 5700G + RTX 3060 + 16 GB 3200 RAM + 512 GB NVMe SSD + 1 TB HDD. Too bad the price went up a little it was $1080 after coupon now it's $1180. Still ships next day though.

In that case, you might as well go with an open frame PC case.

This seems like a great deal (in my inexperienced opinion). The only thing is I wish the case were a darker color.

Can anyone speak to if similar deals can be had with a darker case, or is the color of the case one of the reasons why this build is so cheap? Thanks.

Bought one with amex offer(both $120 off and 1% reward). It also comes with dell reward ($35) and 10% cb from somewhere. I don't need the graphic card either and will try to get $550 back. So I think it is a good deal for $334(1168- 120 - 12 - 35 - 117 - 550)

The reason why this build is so cheap is because Dell cheapened out on using a basic CPU stock cooler and one chassis fan. Dell's BIOS locks the CPU's turbo boost power time window to a maximum of 20 seconds and relies on CPU thermal throttling to prevent overheating.
