Came here to gush about Dead Cells. I figured it would be one of those platformers I put 5-10 hours into and mostly feel like I got my money's worth. It was not! I'm at almost 200 hours now and I'm still finding new things to unlock have only just beaten new game plus 3 (out of 5). The devs are still frequently putting high quality balance updates into this game, and every DLC that has come out has been amazing. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Came here to talk about dead cells as well. Bought it in beta for PC and put over 200hrs on it there. Was a bit fed up with how they were updating the game and changing it on me. Took a break and rebought it for the switch and love it even more. Have about 120 hrs on it for the switch and am so close to getting to the final boss on the last difficulty level (there are 6 levels).
Well well worth the price.
Also outer worlds was a fantastic puzzle game. If you played myst you'll like this a lot.
Just wanna make sure you're aware: if you have it on steam, you can go back to any previous version of the game and stay there as long as you want. Just right click on the game title > go to Betas > and then select the version you like. This is unique to Dead Cells afaik
As far as I can tell, the Rise of the Giant is a forever free DLC.
That's fine, but is there no way to add a free DLC to a Steam library without first installing the game on a PC? I may not play the game for months so I don't want it installed.
Also going to chime in about Dead Cells - the base game is absolutely worth it, as is the DLC. I suggest giving the base game a shot first and "beating" it a few times on Normal difficulty then add DLC and the higher difficulty to refresh the game/give you more challenge. The game has NG+ / NG++ / NG+++ etc in the form of "Boss Cells" so it's BC1 / BC2 / BC3 / BC4 / BC5.
You will die a lot but it's very satisfying to earn the next Boss Cell and fine-tune your builds/strategy.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I don't know the answer to your question. But since it's forever free, you can always download it when you decide to download the base game.
