If you have never tried VOIP, I highly recommend it. For service I use VOIP.MS and my monthly bill is less than $5. Phone, fax & a toll-free number - everything including usage. And I did it all myself being a senior citizen. Oh and the fax is via email. I have my own fax#, and when I recv a fax I get it via email! Same is true to send a fax - I email it & the fax is sent! Easy!!
Work from home surge pricing. I bought this for $45 a few years ago.
The device itself is fantastic.
You can do the same with Google Voice and it's free, works with faxes too (although no email copy support that I know of)

If this allows you to hook up a regular phone, does that mean you can plug it into the house jack and drive all phones in the house off it too?

I attempted to attach this to my TPLink Powerline adapter. It never seemed to work. Has anyone attached this to a PL adapter Ethernet port and got it to work? I tried Obi Support but they couldn't help me.

Thanks

Yes. An OBi has a REN (Ringer Equivalent Number) of 5.

This has been gone through many many many times. The correct answer is usually NO.

I have a Vonage landline phone for local and international calls. Can I port my existing Vonage landline number to this device? Any help appreciated. Thank you 🙏
Port your vonage number to a prepaid cellphone first and then port from cellphone to google voice to use with this device. Google voice won't let you port directly from vonage

Is there a way to use this device to forward landline calls to a cell phone?

For example, I would have a US-based phone number that family in America can call....and this device hooked up to a computer where I would live in Poland. When my family dials the American number, the call gets forwarded (without increased costs) to my cell phone that runs on the Polish cell phone network?
Activate the device in the US with a new google voice number and then take it to Poland. It should work in Poland with a US number

Been using voip.ms for my entire company, about 30 phones, for about 10 years. Phenominal value and service. Cost is only 100 bucks for a month.

You can do what you are asking but you may first need to port the Vonage # to a cell provider depending on which VOIP service you want to use. When I moved from Vonage to Google Voice, I had to first port my Vonage #s to a prepaid cell phone provider (I used Tello) and then port them again from Tello to Google Voice. I don't recall there being a charge to port from Vonage to Tello but I believe GV charges $20/number to port #s into GV. Hope this helps.

Probably more like growing popularity price surge. More and more people I know are switching over to this.
