v1 headband felt flimsy, mine actually started to lose it's position for the right cup...it would just slide down. I sent mine in for warranty and they sent me a v2. The v2 headband is WAY sturdier and feels a lot better in terms of feel, but it doesn't have the comfort strap that the v1 has so it's a bit less comfortable. The v2 also sounds less harsh in the treble region where sibilance happens. Overall I think the v2 is better.

Just my 2c but I don't even think these were $1799 when they were released years ago. Looks like they probably jacked up the price for a "sale". You can get HiFiMan Ananda for roughly this same price.

I don't like the headband (i think technically this is like V4 of the headband) compared to my old HE560 V2 headband. That one was a little tight on the head but i have a big head, and this one is just like a heavy hot band on top of my head after a while

Yeah the lack of comfort strap definitely makes it less comfortable.

I've used this and it is really good if you have appropriate AMP and DAC to drive it.

Just noticed on site that it says:
Backordered. Expected to arrive by 08/15/2021

Still, that's not bad.

Thank you jesus!!!... opps, I mean iconian! I bought a pair of these a while ago from Adorama and unfortunately had to sell them and have regretted it ever since. These are probably the best cans I have ever heard.

Never buying Hifiman again. There is a reason they are constantly revising these things. They're also destroying the resale value of earlier versions, which is pretty awful given how expensive some of their headphones are in the first place.

Resale value of the earlier versions has actually gone up on he6 og but I suppose you just want to hate on hifiman and not open to alternative viewpoints. Which is ok with me.

The OG HE6 and the Adorama exclusives really just share a name, they aren't on the same level.

Not that these are bad, but they probably aren't going to have the same resale longevity that the OG HE6 has. Think of these as $650-700 headphones, not the advertised $1800.

Also it should be noted these are extremely hard to drive. You will need a powerful amp.
