I have tried the birthday cake pebbles iso 100 and I wasn't that impressed. Tasted like vanilla to me. Can anyone comment on the fruity pebbles flavor?

I checked bodybuilding.com forums and the general consensus is that it tastes like post fruity pebbles milk. it's Amazon so try it and if you don't like it, return it.

Yea tastes like that left over milk from fruity pebbles. But for me, my sensory organs can tell it's bit too artificial in sweetness though. So not exactly as "that left over milk" per se
Dairy based protein isn't the best long term tho health wise.
Except it's not. The answers and reviews literally say:

how is it lactose free if it has 1g of sugar?
Answer:
The product is actually lactose free. It's a whey protein ISOLATE meaning it's refined. The sugar that's in the product more than likely does not come from milk and is from the sucralose and cocoa powder that they use

That being said, I had tried about 6 other whey protein supplements and they all caused various levels of GI distress including gas, bloating, diarrhea and general abdominal discomfort. I did a lot of research on protein and talked to several of the competitive bodybuilders at my gym, one of whom has a PhD in biochemistry and is an active cancer researcher at a nationally known cancer center and the other a nationally known bodybuilder.
Remarkably, both told me that most of the GI upset in whey protein arises (pun intended) from the high levels of lactose in those products and they each recommended Dymatize iso 100 because it was lactose free and both had used it personally with no adverse GI events. I know, I'm falling into "case report" territory.

Can anyone answer 3 questions.
1) How effective is this BCAA mix for muscle recovery (prevent soreness or reduce it?)
2) Anyone know which works better for muscle recovery, this or Amino X [BSN Amino X Muscle Recovery & Endurance Powder with BCAAs, 10 Grams of Amino Acids]
(Ive used Amino X for 2 years and it's like magic. When I'm sore and drink it, I feel an instant improvement of less soreness, or it prevents soreness the next day. But note that it has 10g Aminos, while Dymatize only has 5g. Thus id like comparison if anyone has used both.)
3) If my goal is muscle recovery + daily protein, Why shouldnt I just get a:
Protein shake in the carton (easy no mixing) that has 30g protein + vitamins? [Pure Protein Variety Pack Protein Shake | 30g Complete Protein | Keto-Friendly RTDs | Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry | Vitamins A, C, D & E plus Zinc Support Immune Health, B08D76TV5C (advertised here before)]
-- Compared to this (Dymatize) which has BCAA, no vitamins, + 25 g protein? (I.e. is BCAA the key ingredient to prevent muscle soreness? or just protein in general?)
E.g. I want a drink routine that I can stack (morning and mid day)... without wasting protein (more than my body can put to use?), and without drinking too much sweeteners.
I.e. will Dymatize work better at muscle recovery? And I wont get the daily vitamins, so I can stack my Protein shake with it (in the morning)?

Thanks, in for one! Been waiting it to drop in price.
I bought the Cocoa Pebbles previously. Just tasted like regular chocolate. Not bad, but didn't diverge from their Gourment CHocolate flavor
Id like more info before I buy. Can I ask what you use this for, what is it good at, e.g. building muscle mass? or prevent muscle soreness? And can you see my question above. Ty.

Not agreeing with the other guy's claim about long-term health impacts, but whey protein is most definitely dairy-based. Whey comes from milk. Whether it still has lactose left in it after processing is beside the point.
With that said, personally I like Dymatize ISO 100. I liked the fruity pebbles flavor, although I'm glad I had a few other flavors to break things up. The fruity pebbles flavor would've eventually gotten old otherwise (and I only had the 1.6 lb tub). In contrast, I could barely stand the birthday cake flavor. Had to dilute it way down.
This is a pretty good price for 5 lb. There have been better deals but they're rare.

Well first someone please state what is the negative of Milk based??? So far Ive heard no reason, except from the Amazon review, which hinted that Milk based causes GI issues. Anything else?
Idc about Milk, except I only want to avoid sugar and sweeteners (which is mostly impossible). Thus id like the more healthy, or less corrosive sugar (whether natural milk sugar is healthier for skin? or the fake sucralose?)

Right now I'm on weight loss mode. Not much, just probably my covid 15. I use this post workout, and sometimes as a drink before bed. This is a good and lean protein.
I don't think it helps with soreness, at least for me.
If you're looking for something that helps in recovery, may I suggest L-Carnitine Supplement and/or collagen powder. I use both and would recommend.

Good Luck!
Thank you. For weight loss Ive notice that if I take a protein drink in the morning, instead of eat solid food, Ive lost some fat. But im already leanish, so sort of starving myself for breakfast - at a cost to muscle?
Ty for informing about L-Carnitine. AminoX works for me (just expensive), and it doesnt have L-Carnitine. (And it works. It has Amino Acid Interfusion [Micronized BCAA Blend [L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Isoleucine], L-Alanine, Micronized Taurine, Micronized L-Citrulline].)
Im trying to find out which ingredient is the key one/ones.
So I googled L-Carnitine vs L-leuicine, found this study. Im not sure I understand the results, if they gave L-Carnitine & L-leuicine both, or L-Carnitine vs L-leuicine vs placebo.

Method
Forty-two healthy older adults aged 55–70 years were randomized to receive either a novel L-Carnitine (1500 mg), L-leucine (2000 mg), creatine (3000 mg), Vitamin D3 (10 μg) (L-Carnitine-combination) product (n = 14), L-Carnitine (1500 mg) (n = 14), or a placebo (n = 14) for eight weeks. ...
Results
The primary composite outcome improved by 63.5 percentage points in the L-Carnitine-combination group vs. placebo (P = 0.013). However, this composite score did not change significantly in the L-Carnitine group (P = 0.232), and decreased slightly in the placebo group (P = 0.534).
Participants supplemented with the L-Carnitine-combination showed a 1.0 kg increase in total lean muscle mass (P = 0.013), leg lean muscle mass (0.35 kg, P = 0.005), and a 1.0 kg increase in lower leg strength (P = 0.029) at week 8. In addition, these increases were significant when compared to the placebo group (P = 0.034, P = 0.026, and P = 0.002, respectively). Total mTOR protein expression was increased in participants in the L-Carnitine-combination group at the end of the study compared to the baseline (P = 0.017). This increase was also significant when compared to the placebo (P = 0.039), suggesting that the increase in muscle mass and strength was due to new protein synthesis and mTOR pathway activation.
Conclusions
The trial did reach its primary objective. L-Carnitine combined with creatine and L-leucine significantly improved the composite score which reflects muscle mass and strength, at the end of the study compared to placebo.
Noob question here but what is the difference between this and Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein? I've been using ON for a while now but is it worth switching over to this?

This is isolate so it contains less fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol than ON whey (0g of fat vs 1.5g so not much of a difference but it can matter in the long run I suppose)

I agree, Isolate is leaner than traditional whey. It costs more, but worth it IMO. Also, i prefer the taste of the dymatize brand, especially the chocolate.
