Amazon Basics Battery Charger 12 Volt 800mA, currently $13.10 but I see the prices fluctuates rapidly.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TTNV9LZ

Used for charging and maintaining a long term float on lead-acid batteries. 12volt 800mA

- Battery charger for cars, motorcycles, boats, and more; fully charges and maintains the appropriate storage voltage
- Compatible with lead acid, absorbed glass mat (AGM), and gel type batteries; fused alligator clips for easily connecting to a battery
- Plugs into a 120V outlet and outputs 12V at 800mA; spark proof with reverse polarity protection (will not supply power unless the connection is correct)
- Made of durable plastic material in a sleek black color; includes a fused ring terminal harness; for use indoors, in a garage
- Backed by an Amazon Basics 1-year limited warranty

Similar to the Battery Tender Junior.

I browsed through the Amazon reviews. There are some reviews related to quality issues but there are a lot of 1 star ratings from people that were confused on what this product is intended for and/or they were attaching this to batteries that were beyond their useful life.
These devices will "charge" some partially dead batteries but is mainly for topping off and maintaining a float charge on a healthy battery. Ideal for lawn/garden and car batteries that sit for long periods of time where a float charge is beneficial.

Eeks. Had to read that twice. 800mah or .8ah is super slow. I suppose very min. for trickle charging and that's it

Harbor Freight used to have these on sale for like $5.99. Not sure what they are now but this seems rather expensive.

This is more of a maintainer than charger. To charge I would recommend at least 2A or more, 0.8A will take a while.

don't waste your money on this and get a float charger that can both charge the battery quicker and prevent over charge and damage to the battery.

If you only want a single all in one unit then one with more current capability makes sense. There are uses for a small long term float, specially if you have more than one battery to maintain.

These type of battery maintainers are perfect for riding mowers or other such equipment (I use the cheap one from harbor freight...paid $6 with coupon). I've got a quick connect on my mower's battery and it gets connected every time I finish mowing. The dirt cheap battery from Sams is now 6.5 years old and still cranks the mower like it did on day one.

these are super useless.
it's not worth the effort vs the amount of time it takes to plug and unplug the unit versus the benefit of the charger.
if you have to use this to maintain the charge of your battery to maintain good working order, then you have bigger problems than the effectiveness of this so called battery charger/maintainer.
?

A float charger is a perfectly valid common thing to use on lead acid batteries. They've been around as long as lead acid batteries have been around. A float charge on a lead acid battery is the ideal condition to long battery life. I have batteries that sit for months without use. Connected or disconneted, doesnt matter. A maintainer is the perfect thing for them. A battery that is left to go dead will have a shortened life span even if it is charged later. Even worse when it happens in the cold winter. Do that a few times and that battery will be useless in 2-3 years instead of 5-7.

Not everyone needs one but they have a valid purpose for those that do.

It's great when you have a motorcycle or riding lawnmower in winter storage (with stabilized gas) and you go out one fine spring morning and it cranks right up!

Useful for a car with a battery that goes down because of some kind of electrical problem in the car that uses a bit of power and drains the battery in two weeks or so.

It is very hard to isolate where this drain is coming from. Very expensive.

So if you have a car or something else you do not use that much this makes sense.

Seems fine for the price. If it had 6v I'd buy an extra to complement my 1A NOCO Genius so as to not shuffle around as much.
