I used to use Mach 3 and liked them, but moved away to Wally's own equal brand due to cost and those were great too.
When the pandemic began I ordered Solimo sets for me, my wife and daugther, and got pretty much one of the worst blades I've ever tried. And yes, I've had to use BIC disposable ones before.
Basically dull, pulling blades. I asked my wife if theirs was as bad, and they told me they were bad, but not terrible. I suspect they may have lied as to not make me feel bad about the purchase. Long story short, we still have those blades around the bathroom. May have gotten a bad batch. I like and trust Amazon brands (I have clothes, cables, cases, bags) but these were a surprise in a negative way.
Hope the people at the homeless shelter I donated the rest too don't struggle too much with them.

The moisturizing strips are a bit thicker than they should be which causes the blades to not be as close as you'd like so you end up pushing a bit harder to get the blades closer.
For $12 it's worth a try, honestly. Everyone's skin is different so while it may seem to pull to some, to me it glides fairly effortlessly.
Maybe their manufacturing process is flawed and it's just up to the blades you get?

I'm in the same boat. I recently started shaving my head and I purchased these a month or two ago based on a friend's recommendation. They are fine for the price point, but I struggled with the feeling of the blades at first. I've used Mach 3 blades for so long that the feeling of these new blades just seemed a bit clunky (5 blades, plus the thicker moisturizing strip), but I think I've gotten over that adjustment.
Best blades ever? No. Worth giving it a shot for the price point? Go for it- you might like them.

Amazon brands can be returned for refund and I'm not shy about doing it. Why dump garbage blades on a homeless shelter, these people have plenty of trauma to deal with already.
