I believe this has one slot to upgrade the memory the 4GB is soldered. So you could add 4GB to 16GB. Edit this is false. No upgrade possible.

That is the biggest downside to this Notebook. If you use an external monitor the 768P may not matter that much. What is one to expect at this price? If you know of something better at this price let me know.

The USB C is gen 2 which is also not that bad.

It looks like the RAM is indeed upgradable (https://www.memorystock.com/memory/AcerSpin3SP31421R56W.html) [memorystock.com]. This is a great machine to run Linux (given the current leaps of compatible drivers for AMD chipsets)

Edit: the customer reviews show a negative one that there's no extra RAM slot.

I've been looking at this laptop for a long time I really could use this touch screen/ tablet style option for work. Do you think this would be able to run windows 11 or exactly how slow will using it be with only 4gb ram. Or anyone can point me to one like this thats ram is upgradeable

4GB is probably manageable for light tasks on an Intel platform. But since AMD Vega GPU demands a much larger ram allocation (normally 2GB - 2.5GB for 1366x768), 4gb might be a severe throttle. But it's really up to you.

4GB with no upgrade path kills this deal. If I could upgrade, I'd get this in a heart beat.

If you don't need the touchscreen you can still get the $200 lenovo ideapad 3 from microcenter ($20 for shipping). You can add more ram, upgrade the nvme, and add an additional 2.5" drive. The screen is 1080p but its a TN. The processor is only a 3150u but its pretty much the same cpu as this 3250u with a slightly lower clock speed.

I have this machine, and I second that above comment. Very snappy and works great. I hightly recommend sticking another at least 4 GB DDR4 RAM in there and an SSD for a great device that gets the job done. Touchpad not as good, just pair it with a mouse.

I think windows 11 might be a pipe dream for this system. Mainly because of 4gb system memory. We really don't know how 11 is gonna be optimized. I'm under the impression Microsoft wants better hardware running their operating systems in the future

You missed an important factor, which should alleviate most of your concern.
+ 2-year warranty. I can vouch for the good warranty service from Allstate/Square Trade.
At least this addresses your reliability concern. Plenty of other issues that bring up red flags. No upgrades for RAM being the real concern in my case.
Still a great deal for a budget, name-brand touch-screen laptop for basic browsing.
