Why? Upgrade is free anyway if you have a valid Windows 10 installation and this build meets the minimum hardware requirements.

No, you don't have to. This is how I did the install:

Unplug power supply
turn on the PC (it should not turn on , remaining el. shoud be gone)
remove original cooler and cpu
close the bracket, prepare Veetro Cooler and align screws on cooler base with holes in the MB. Its a pain to do it with new paste etc.
Also note the letter V on cooler base, install it so you don't have it upside down like me, remove cooler base
plug the Veetro fan into MOBO. It's a pain to do it after you install your cooler base, move it aside
Re-paste and install your CPU
Install the cooler base. Should be very easy when you have now all the screws aligned, tighten
Install fan on cooler base
plug in, turn on, everything works, no error message during boot

I know I do not have a time machine, but the i3 version was on sale on the 12th and 15th this month, for 300. Cannot say there will be more deals but maybe worth waiting to save 100.

I want to buy this for my Plex Server. How is the power usage compare to like a NUC? I already have a QNAP to store all my movie, so the internal space is not an issue

Why does the picture of the deal show a Dell XPS desktop when the deal is for a Dell Inspiron?

Yes. I was eyeing the XPS deal for a while and when I did the calculation, I ended up spending the same amount building it myself. So went that route. Lol still sporting my 1070ti paired with i5 11400 and PSU at 650w EVGA GT.

Maybe get this and sell the GPU to drive the cost down of the basic system. https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/15165436

Is there any way I could get an rx 580 in this thing? I see in the comments you can upgrade to a 500w psu but I'm not sure if that's enough or if there's enough room in here. Have an extra laying around and want to get my brother a budget gaming rig

I am considering this too. But even if I sell RTX3060 for $400, I will end up spending a lot Frown
I don't think I will get a lot by selling by old PC(minus GPU).

I wish I could reuse my PC components!

Is the PSU upgradable? I have an RTX 3080 and 4th gen intel i7 which is struggling to keep up with it Frown Also it lacks Windows 11 supports
I don't want to spend a ton on new PC
Dell uses a proprietary connector. But if you get an adapter (I'm sure ebay has them) yo should be able to. I have not tried this though

IMHO if you are planning to make mods to this, you're better off building a new one. It may work for current need but may not have a pci slot for additional cards down the line. The case is also smaller than a full size desktop so can't really be sure unless someone tried it

Only with a Dell PS

Most big name (Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ect..) budget pre-built computers like this come with propriety cases, PSU, and motherboards now a days. Everything else are standard size parts (CPU, drives, fans, graphics cards, RAM, ect..) and can be easily upgraded/replaced/swapped.

Anyone know what specific Inspiron model this is ?
Trying to find the Dell specs pdf so I can see the exact number of dimm slots, as well as expansion slots for cards.

I own one of these, and for the price I paid (~$200 after flipping the graphics card on a recent deal) it's a decent system for my uses (light Plex server, torrent client, time machine, google drive/photos mirror, samba share, hobby chia farming).

But I wouldn't pay this price for it. Proprietary motherboard and power supply, case is poor quality (though nice looking), bargain basement non-Intel CPU fan, poor noise isolation on the 3.5" bays, poor circulation on the whole, and they even cheaped out and didn't include a 2nd drive caddy for the available 2.5" slot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DMg6hUudHE is a great video no how bad the built quality is on these - it's for the G5 but it's the same case and build options.
