Local Walmart had one left. The un helpful employee scanned it with his phone and it ran $144. I asked him to please try at the register and he hesitantly did. It ran $144 as well. He was annoyed. I smiled and left.

Never compare Apple tv with any of the streaming sticks if the picture quality matters to you
Fire TV Stick 4K is better, you are right. 4K, HDR10, HDR10 Plus, Dolby Vision, HLG, YouTube 4K HDR. Available for $35 or less when it goes on sale. It's open ecosystem with more apps and sideloading.
Ok but why though? why should someone take you word that it sucks donkey balls over someone whos used it for years daily with all popular apps. Maybe you tried to use it for the games..
Have you even owned 10 Apple products to even rank this one one of the worst? Go look into the Magic Mouse 2 design and figure out why they would decide to put the charging port on the bottom.
It's bad. Entire universe calls it the worst remote. There must be a reason why Apple redesigned it lol
On a road trip from Chicago to Nashville, saw a Walmart in Marion IL and checked BS and the Walmart didn't show up. Took a chance and pulled over to see what they had. Got lucky and scored one for $35

"Worst product Apple has made"
"The Siri remote was a broadly criticized hardware accessory, and pretty much the only point of contention for Apple TV owners waiting for an updated streaming box with a competent remote to match – to the point that we advocated for using your iPhone as a remote instead (which is still a great option)."
You want me to list the things wrong with it?
1) Made of glass, very slippery and shatters easily
2) Easy to lose
3) No trackability
4) Symmetrical shape means you won't know if you're grabbing the trackpad side or the other button side.
5) Touch-sensitive pad at the top that will register even the slightest touch
6) No bezel so you'll be skipping your show when you find it in the dark
7) Frustrating to type passwords with it
And no, FYI I never used it for gaming. My Apple TV was used exclusively for movies.
That enough reasons to get through your thick uneducated skull?
So you found people on reddit that agree with you. Big deal. Wouldn't Apple redesign the remote if it was materially affecting their earnings? On Amazon, Apple TV 4K (32GB, Previous Model) has 4.8 stars x 24K reviews with 88% 5 stars and 7% 4 stars. 95% of buyers figured out how to use that remote. Who are you calling uneducated? The Apple designers who designed the remote or the 5% of people who can't learn how to use it?

There's a reason everyone hates it. IT SUCKS DONKEY BALLS. One of the worst 10 products designed by Apple.
