Worth it at full price (which I paid on release day). This is a steal. Peak AD&D 2nd edition computer gaming. I used to love this game 20 years ago. I still do, but I used to, too.
Fanatical had the entire series at all time lows as far as I've ever seen. I think they still might, I picked up BG2 and dragonspear for like $4 each a few days ago.
Steam has it on sale till 1pm EST tomorrow, You can get it for $2 or the whole collection (Baldur's Gate 1&2, Planscape Torment, Icewind Dale) and soundtracks for like $14. Search for "The Infinity Collection".
EDIT: NVM on BG1 being $2, got it mixed up with one of the other games in there. Still $14 for all of them it probably the lowest I saw it so far.

Quickie tho - is it impossibly hard to beat the game on normal difficulty if you select a less than optimal party?
Think i recall years ago i quit game out of frustration when i was in a sewer and a pack of these black zombie thingies would just drain all health w/o anything i could do about it (seemingly)
It's $4 on steam right now. I haven't played it yet but that's what I did.

Just depends on if you understand the system or not. The more you understand the less optimal you need to build. To someone who is new it might seem hard. But Spells like Web are busted and you'll get super good use from them.
