Thats not the point. Arbitrary restrictions and limitations are the real problem with a device meant for light computing and media consumption.
They're restrictions from the streaming services to most, if not all, 4k laptops and PCs aren't they?

yes, but I think his point is they stink. DRM challenges are normally the root causes.

yall think this is gonna ship? i was able to snag one for $384.50 and was in chat trying to snake $350 off when the page was removed.

i was about to pull the trigger on a lenovo flex 5 4gb ram i3 for my lil one but this popped up and couldn't pass it up.

anyone think this will not ship?
It will probably ship. I don't think it was a price mistake. They sometimes have some really good deals.

No. Windows is perfectly capable of playing uhd hdr and hevc files. chromeos on the other hand is simply incapable.

mine shipped two hours ago.... It was picked up by FedEx(Express) from Samsung's facility at 4:02PM Eastern time. 2-Day shipping and expected to be delivered to me on Wednesday.

I can't believe how fast they managed to pack and ship it out so quickly. Almost as fast as Amazon.

But I'm having second thoughts. I honest don't know why I ordered it. I do love Chromebooks, but I probably don't need a new one right now. I simply could not resist this great deal. (more than 50% off it's usual street price)

On the other hand, I've never owned a laptop with 4k OLED screen. I get the feeling that I'll be enticed by the screen into keeping it.... Frown

I've bought many suboptimal products in the past just to realize that I should have just paid more for the best all-around performer. For example, the Pixel Slate i3 (2019) deal from Best Buy was exactly that. The screen was beautiful and the sound is good but the keyboard case died (known issue) and Google doesn't make enough killer apps like Apple. I hate that I sound like an Apple fan-boy right now.
I got that deal. The battery died last week and support said I'm out of luck.

I own this and it is not useless in tablet mode with 4k resolution.

mine just shipped via FedEx.... can't wait until it gets delivered on Wednesday. Smilie

a few quick question:

(1) since it can run Android app, can it run Google Maps and navigation? Or does it not have an internal GPS antenna?

(2) can it play YouTube videos in 1440p or 2160p?

(3) is it possible to upgrade the RAM or the SSD?

Thanks for your help! Smilie

If you used a credit card, check if you have additional warranty. Most banks give at least 1-yr extension.

My biggest issue was the Pixel Slate Pen eats batteries like there's no tomorrow.
