Even I have the same thought!! Is it worth to convert to unlimited 1.5% cb from single category 3 %?🤔
That's... pretty interesting....
I'd be sure and keep a copy of that if you take the offer
(which I would- I do have the travel card but never use it after having gotten its own signup-- this conversion would get me a SUB without a new account/hard pull AND let me ditch the premium rewards card that forced me to find value in the airline credit to keep getting 2.625% cash back on non-cat purchases)
I really should open one of these. Heavily invested in the bank of America ecosystem already. I get 5% back across multiple categories. This would be a great addition for flat rate cash back, but I already have a 2% card. Not sure it's worth a credit pull to get a little more

and their brokerage accounts aren't great. people complain about fees, hard to use, .etc.
The best is if you can move a retirement account. Something where you don't actively trade.
I have Merrill Edge Investment account with them. Extremely easy to use. No fee whatsoever.

I am also in the BofA ecosystem. What card do you have to give you 5% back?

The cash rewards card which gives you 3% can be boosted to 5.25% if you have platinum honors. There's multiple variations of this card (MLB, wildlife, Susan g Komen, etc) and you can get them all

Totally understand now. That Ole platinum honors. I have the card you mentioned and this new 1% card. Of course with the platinum honors you get more back.
Upgraded last month from Cash Rewards to Unlimited for $200 bonus. I spent $1K last week. Statement closed for the month today and I saw $215 reward on my account. Sweet! Now to call BoA again to make sure the $1K is on 0% APR.

This is months later, but did you happen to see a tracker for your amount spent on the card before they gave you the $200? I cant seem to get an answer anywhere online. And the phone support has no idea either.
I don't recall there was a tracker. I spent my $1K in a single transaction so I didn't need a spending tracker.

If anyone happens to google or search for this. I ended up getting the $200 bonus two months after spending the $1000. It auto showed up on my second statement.

The card you're talking about is a separate card. I have both. This card and pick your category card.
How? I have an account with them and there's definitely fees even for self directed investing
