Wish I kept my 1st edition Charizard back in the day and not sold it to a kid at summer school for $10

Is that normal pricing?I recently got some cards from a friend and I'm thinking of picking up a new hobby and just collecting. I use to play/collect back in the day but it wasn't my money that bought the cards haha.

Yes. Its a normal price for the booster pack. Limit 2 per account. Free store pickup.

He says crashing. Meanwhile Pokémon go just passed $5 billion in revenue.
earning reports are generally 1 quarter behind current market.....and to give an example
of crashing:
a legit vivid voltage booster box a couple months ago was going for $250 , now you can buy one for $110 to $120 from legit places (not ebay or amazon)

I see Shining Fates is on a reprint. The Elite Trainer Boxes have come in and out of stock regularly since last month at hobby stores.

Yes, that's what's been happening with VV prices but it's not due to crashing. It's simple supply and demand: they reprinted cards recently, hence the lower price. This has been due to weekly shipments at hobby/game stores.

This is why I'll never buy into the higher prices unless they are XY Evolutions (circa 2015) or older. Even Shining Fates is in stock again. Sun and Moon too.

Like fiat money (e.g. our US system), simply printing more devalues what already exists; the people who spent $200+ per box got doubly screwed since they paid a premium and subsequently had all their cards devalued 🤦

... it's literally a penny more expensive than usual according to this... How is this either slick or a deal? I guess in the "you privileged few who get to pay retail" sense maybe.

Lol, try going to a store and buy one. There's a major shortage of cards due to scalpers so rarity = slickdeal.

Some sets are being heavily reprinted so the demand is being met now. With the influx of the graded cards coming from grading companies and onto the market, it is lowering the price of cards that were a bit harder to find because everyone was sending them in to be graded

Aren't these things basically worth their weight in gold at the moment? Saying MSRP and move along is a bit short sighted.

the reason it blew up was stimulus and lockdown. those things are gone, mostly.
