My understanding is the one-year duration is not device specific so once you activate it on your second computer, that license will expire for all devices in one year. You would effectively have 2 concurrent licenses on your primary computer and it would not extend it to a 3rd year.

I know from experience if you can wait until later on in November close to Black Friday amazon will sell digital codes for Norton at a much lower price than normal.. it's true that Norton will demand your credit card info simply to install but after that I just turn off auto-renew on Norton, delete my credit card info and Norton still works...
Malwarebytes - not sure how auto renewal works on it but see

far as the possibility of automatically being billed far more than you'd like without your knowledge or approval (sadly most paid antivirus/security software companies are going this route nowadays)
Having said that Malwarebytes (free version) at times has caught something that slipped past Norton ... see also their free adware cleaner product which I've been forced to use on rare occasions when something slips past Norton
