My family plays Coup about every christmas eve... whatever your skill level at gaming, you will catch on real quick to the basics. It's one of those games thats not so much about winning or losing... it about calling bullshit on your friends.

Fantastic game, probably has the best "easy to learn, lots of depth" ratio of any game I have ever played. Plus it's just hilarious game play. Can't recommend enough.

Seem's it's been at this price for a while now. But it's a great game, all my friends own it already but going to pick it up anyway at this price because I never want to be without it.

My friends and I played Avalon which I think is similar game as this. How is Coup different from Avalon? Is it just the theme and character difference but plays the same way?

Super fun and short game. On board game nights we will often play a round of two of this before we play a more involved game. It is fun bluffing and bsing with friends, with minimal setup and take down.

Very different though they both rely on similar themes of lying or deducting. Avalon is two teams, one trying to fail the other trying to find out who did it.

Coup is a single player takes all game where you can potentially have 2 of 7 roles. There are three of each type so if you see one on the table, and you have 2 of the same, you know nobody can have that role. It starts out as a bluffing game but then kind of turns into card counting in a way. Very fun but the only problem is if you are really good, people will team up against you.
