Born raised in Jax. You could do some river / ocean fishing charters. Beaches. St Augustine is a great two-day visit. Orlando is close - theme parks and such. Also nearby are natural springs that are worth a day trip to float down the river
And southern hospitality. It's a thing

I was just remembering all our trips to Florida last October-November for less than $40 round-trip! I doubt I'll ever see rates that bottom low anytime soon. $137 now sounds like a total joke lol.

Anything good to see there?
I am in NYC and most people only want to go to Miami.

Just be careful with BE - Basic Economy - no picking seats ahead of time, no included bags and limits on exchanges/etc.

Not saying it's a bad deal, just be aware of it that's all. The shorter the flight and the fewer the people flying probably the more tolerable it is.

Jacksonville the city would probably be very underwhelming for you, San Marco and riverside area (look up Five points) have some good culture and food.

About an hour south of the JIA is St Augustine which has a ton of history and food. Would avoid in the summer due to heat and heavy tourism.

Probably because we were in the thick of a pandemic. Were you the New Yorkers blaming Florida for all the COVID-19 cases while traveling here? I think so.

Jacksonville is a 2 hour - 2.5 hour drive from the greater Orlando area. 1 hour to St. Augustine and less than 2 hours to Daytona. There are poker rooms in Jax, Daytona, and Orange City, FL. I'm from NY but have lived in Central Florida for 35 years. I'd drive to Jax for the deal. It takes me and hour to get to MCO (Orlando).

Jacksonville, not really maybe a beach weekend. That's about it, just my 2 cents.

I dunno who TDed them - prob folks wanted to keep those hidden gems for themselves, but my family and many of our friends enjoyed so many trips to FL back then - it was a particularly fresh breath of air to have a meal in a restaurant while everything in PA and NJ was shut down. Between cheap tickets, dirt cheap hotels and relatively empty beaches it was probably one of the best autumns in the last 5-6 years.

Not sure if you're stalking me... ha. that's where we live currently. No doubt the hottest place in Florida right now. Great schools and close to the beach. I'm biased but this is the place to be to live, raise a family, or invest in a property to rent out
