I got Shin Megami Tensei for $20 on PS4 two or three weeks ago, at GameStop. This is too expensive. It's bound to go lower again. It's a great game, but it's a $20-$25 game.

I hope Bravely Default ii still is widely available next year. Just waiting to see if it gets a PC port a year or so later like Octopath.

Nintendo published BD2 outside of Japan, so it is far less likely a port will happen.

I believe it was 29.99 at GameStop a few weeks ago, so this price isn't that bad if you want a hard copy.

They also published Dragon Quest 11, specifically the Switch version with all the extra content. No problem with Square publishing it on other platforms.

Another example is Platinum's the Wonderful 101. Nintendo helped fund and published on Wii U, but Platinum was able to self publishing for PS4, PC, and Switch ports.

I'm just waiting for the right price point for Octopath (physical) and it's been a couple years already ($30 and over is a bit much). I'm still kicking myself for not checking my local Walmart for the $10 clearance deal. I'd consider the PC version if somehow I'm convinced to buy the Steam Deck. Seems rpgs only have a place for me on the handhelds these days.
