I have yet to see a post for UR point conversion option that receives "awesome value for UR points". All redemption options are terrible. Keep 'em until you die! laugh out loud

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't see how this transfer ever makes sense even with a 50% bonus unless you're just desperate to redeem points. When I compare UR point rates vs Marriott point rates for the same property and dates, the cost in UR points is typically significantly lower.

Perhaps if a particular property had an exceptionally high cash price relative to the Marriott point price, it could work in your favor especially for stays of 5 nights (assuming 5th night is free).

I'm also basing this on getting 1.25 cents per point on UR reward travel redemption which I thought was the minimum on aby card that supports travel partner transfers.

Anyone care to share how the Marriott transfer might be better?

It depends.... every now and then the bonvoy has a decent deal WHEN the nightly rate for some properties are in the $600/$700/nt range and only costs you 35,000pts per nite. But research first, calculate it, before you transfer.

But yeah, I have a bonvoy card too, used to be starwood, and ugh, devalue central over there.

CSR lets you redeem UR at 1.5 cents per point... either in the travel portal, or for statement credits against any purchases in the PYB categories.

Value there isn't as good as you can usually get transferring to airlines or Hyatt, but it'll usually beat the value of Marriott transfers even with a 40% bonus.

Another point - Hyatt waives resort fees out of award stays, marriott does not

The best use of Chase points is to transfer to airlines FF programs. So, yeah, pretty much every other forms of use are of lower value.

I've always read that you hold them until you need them for specific redemptions at their transfer partners. And that Hyatt and United are where you'll get the most value.

Hyatt is always an interesting case- for pure cash-equiv value they're the only hotel partner worth transferring to from Chase and 2+ cents a point isn't hard to find.

But they also tend to have higher cash prices than nearby/similar properties, so the value proposition isn't always the best if you don't specifically want/need a Hyatt.

For airlines I've found it's pretty YMMV on what transfers offer the best value

Newbie question, how do I transfer points to airline? I don't see that option on my chase account…

You need to have a paid (ie has an annual fee) chase card to have that option.

If you do it should be readily available at the ultimate rewards website

(though as noted this particular transfer isn't terribly worthwhile unless you have a specific, high value, redemption lined up)
