I've owned and played a couple Monoprice guitars. Good guitar for $100, likely to need fret dressing and a setup. Resale is $0.

You will want to upgrade quickly, but it's a cheap way to figure out if guitar is for you.

Concur. I love mine as a beginner/goof around guitar, the amp is actually way better than expected, and this was a great deal when I paid $120 for it. $90 is a STEAL.

BUT!!! The frets are straight up finger slicers (I've seen this on 2 different Cali's). You will not, repeat, WILL NOT be able to safely play this guitar until the fret edges are sorted out. Honestly a 3M sanding block was good enough for me, but at $90 you can pay for a real luthier to clean this up and still be in GOOD DEAL territory. If you get good and are itching for better components, I hear Fender has a one piece drop in that even fits the screw pattern. Swap out the pickups and you have a very competitive guitar for the money.
