Don't know exactly about these but Clark's have some of the worst sizing I've ever had to deal with. I wear a 10.5/11 in ultraboost and Yeezys but down to a 9.5-10 in Clark's. Different sizing for different Clark's as well it's wild.
I bought some Clark's dress shoes about 4 years ago that I'm still wearing to work to this day. They are extremely high quality and comfortable. When would you say the quality dropped off? I bought 3 pairs just now so I can report back after I get them for anyone that is curious.

Really don't recommend Clark's for men. Go to Allen Edmonds, wait for a sale and get a pair.
Still 3-4x the price of these eh?

Yes they are more expensive, so if you have no other choice then get the cheaper ones. I tried out the bostonian Clark shoes and ended up with plantar fasciitis on one of my feet. Made walking and exercising painful. I will not go back to cheaper dress shoes again due to it. I still recommend saving up for a pair of nicer quality shoes.

For the price, I would not hesitate in recommending Clarks, but I do agree that there has been a drop off in quality and especially comfort, in my limited experience. I had a pair of brown Escalade shoes that I wore for about four years. My black shoes were Rockport dress shoes (bicycle 2 something or other lol; all i know is they are amazingly comfortable). I bought the newer version of the Escalade shoes, and the inside material of the escalade, the padding for your foot (sorry I don't know the technical term for these things), was waayyyy less comfortable. I don't waste shoes, so I am still wearing those Escalade shoes, but they are wearing much more quickly and are significantly less comfortable. I bought new Rockport shoes and the inside material of those also were not quite as comfortable as before (the previous insert was adidas branded and I'm not sure what the new one is but it is no longer that), but the difference was not nearly as dramatic as with the Clarks. Anyway, again, at these prices you can expect that you're not getting the most amazingly comfortable shoe, and it's still much better than buying dockers or nunn bush or something like that...Clarks are still more comfortable than those more budget options will ever be. Sorry for the long comment, and I'm not saying my experience is the same as that of others. I honestly hope you guys have better luck than I did.

I'd say Allen Edmonds > Johnston & Murphy > Cole Haan > Clarks, but even Clarks are decent. Of course, it varies by model...expensive Allen Edmonds are much better crafted than the cheaper ones, for example.

If these are made in India, these are likely to be crap. Clark's aren't what they used to be and the quality has gotten worse with time. Of course what you get is what you pay for. Have really bad experience with these on multiple occasions therefore no longer buying.
I also bought some Clarks about 3 years ago just as Projectkhaos mentioned, they are good quality. No wear to insoles & it is still comfortable and looks new. It is still also waterproof. I stood in a river with them for about a minute, and socks were dry (Knock on wood)

I went though a pair of Clarks soles in 3 months(Nordstrom rack $40) these should be the same quality. My Ecco are in year 3 and still look like new.

Thanks! I've been doing the whole classic men's clothing makeover and bought all the major suspects in shoes. Oxford cap toe in black and dark brown, wingtip brogue in black and oak/light brown, Chelsey boots in black, and a nice pair of black loafers. Wasn't really wanting to spend money on chukkas as I wasn't sure if they suit me, but for $35, I've ordered the dark brown Chukkas/mid-boot and will see how they work out. Can't go wrong for that price. Thanks.

I've looked at Cole Haan for decades, had one pair. They were very lightly constructed. They seem to be pretty, cheaply made, and expensive- relying on the premium pricing for the illusion of quality. Johnston and Murphy went downhill (actually, across the Pacific) about 15 year ago, and are coming back, quality-wise. They will last a decade easily with proper care. Allen Edmonds are in a class by themselves. They will last more than a decade and keep their good looks. The company will rebuild most of their line. They are expensive and worth it. You'll go through a number of pair of Cole-Hann before your Allen Edmonds wear out.

I don't know about Clark's. I haven't worn a pair for decades. The ones I had then were very well made, but times change. Based on the prices, I am not too confident.

These are not even Clarks shoes, these are Bostonian, which is a lower quality brand owned by Clarks.
