This is the same as having two 27in monitors side by side .. so it does give you the option of treating it as two monitor or one big one for things like programming.

It really is great as a work / productivity monitor as well as a bit of a bonus for gaming.

I have the 43inch version of this monitor, and it has been an absolute game changer in terms of productivity and gaming. I work tech support, and having all that horizontal real estate really helps with multitasking/ keeping an eye on multiple things at once. Gaming wise unless you're running a legit supercomputer or running older titles you'll probably have to settle for less than 120 FPS, but it's amazingly immersive regardless. I put Apex on very low settings and get around 60 FPS and it's super fun.
I've been eyeing this monitor for awhile, but honestly the 43 Inch has been so nice I may have found my personal sweet spot. I would highly recommend super ultrawides like this though!

You do you. You're forgetting returning anything to Amazon is super simple. If it comes with dead pixels or whatever, just send it back.

Warranty registration is all linked to the serial number. I had to RMA a Evo SSD a few months ago and they just used the manufacture date to determine my eligibility.

If I can save myself almost 50% to take a small risk then sure I'll do it. No one is forcing you to.

Is this something that Best Buy would price match?
Yes. Amazon is a retailer that they will price match. Best Buy checks the listing to confirm that it:

So after futher investigating this. They don't have this exact model on their website. And if it's not exactly the same model number, I don't see them being flexible as the closest 1440 model i see is a 240hz. It's not even a model number change for retail purposes, it's actually a different model completely.

Webex and Teams (not sure about Zoom, haven't had to use it in a couple years) both do terrible scaling of ultrawides even if you're just sharing a window. But you can toggle the monitor into Picture-by-Picture mode so it looks like two physical 16:9 1440p monitors.

That fixes the aspect ratio, but if you've got your fonts scaled below 100% (this monitor is the equivalent of a 27" 16:9 in height) you'll still have the same size issues as anyone else trying to share from a big monitor to a bunch of people on laptops.

It's a pain switching back and forth. I personally keep a 24" 1080p hooked up just for content sharing in meetings. It also keeps me from having to worry about inappropriate IMs popping up at the wrong time. Smilie
Thank you for information. That is only point holding me back on this monitor .
Feel like painful to another one just for sharing next to this monster !

I do a lot of (raw) photo edits and 4K video editing on Adobe Premiere, these (ultra) wide screen monitors are not very useful for those purposes.

Get a nice 4K monitor. I have a Dell 43 inch ultrasharp and it's awesome for both work and other uses. The advantage of having extra vertical space is priceless. It's great for Excel, Tableau, SQL Developer, and other programs I use simultaneously.

This monitor has a surface area of 626 square inches, compared to 790 for a 43-inch 4K. Also, a 4K monitor has higher resolution (3840x2160 vs. 5120x1440).

Check out https://www.sven.de/dpi/ to do the math for you.

This monitor:
Display size: 47.17" × 13.27" = 625.78in² (119.81cm × 33.7cm = 4037.29cm²) at 108.54 PPI, 0.234mm dot pitch, 11782 PPI²

A 43-inch 4K monitor:
Display size: 37.48" × 21.08" = 790.08in² (95.19cm × 53.55cm = 5097.26cm²) at 102.46 PPI, 0.2479mm dot pitch, 10498 PPI²
Thank you very much for this post.
I was wondering if the ultra wides were any good for photo editing.
I'll keep a large 4k monitor on my radar now.

49", HDR2000, 240hz, Mini LED. But MSRP $2,500 Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

This is probably better deal right now if you want ultra wide.

4k users beware: 1440p is a big step down. I had this monitor for a week and returned it. Going from 4k to 1440p is like putting on a dirty pair of readers. It was just something I couldn't get over personally. YMMV.
Unless you are using a 32 inch or larger screen or you have super vision, your 4K is being scaled so you can read text anyway. I'd rather use a 1440 screen running without any scaling by the OS.

I've had both and prefer my 4ks, thanks. Looking at the CRG was like Looking through rice paper compared to what I have.
