I wonder how true that is though. As a manufacturer, I wouldn't choose stainless steel for this application because corrosion resistance is not an issue. In comparison to hand garden tools, stainless steel versions are more expensive than their carbon steel counterparts. It just doesn't match up in my opinion in price or design

Agree. Also for $10 you could probably get some square tube steel or aluminum and some drawer pulls to make the same thing but better.
