Yes, that's how that usually works. Almost no company will send you a brand new device for warranty. Apple gives you a refurbished iPhone if yours dies after the return period.

I bought this monitor a year ago, right after 1 year and 5 days my HDMI inputs stopped working. DP would work but not HDMI, after trouble shooting with Dell support they determined that my HDMI board was faulty. So they sent me a replacement because i bought it from BestBuy. But they sent me a Refurbished one.

I really wanted to buy a second one and was waiting for a price like this again but with the HDMI issues, i'm not so sure now. Otherwise i love this monitor, just need to get colors calibrated.

You're actually lucky because I had a Dell D2719HGF that died a week after the 1 year warranty and Dell refused to replace it. In my case it was the DP that died and now I have to use a DP to HDMI adapter. I ended up using it as a work monitor and went with a better company.

Learning something new today regarding refurbished. My motto is usually if it does not fail within the return period it will last for a while.

I will add that when HDMI failed, the menu screen would not come on even when switching to DP. So there was no way to adjust presets or do a reset.

I have this monitor and it's pretty decent once you get the colors calibrated. 1440P 120hz works good with Series X/S also. I got this monitor as a placeholder until I could make up my mind on a 240hz display, and I think it's worth it's price so far. The difference between 1080p and 1440p in FPS games is astronomical. The other posts here have me a bit worried about the monitors longevity, but I guess I'll have to wait and see how long it holds up then.
