Considering how well reviewed its been both both critics and (loved by) gamers I am doubtful you will be disappointed. I am sure this in on top of most people's best games list after playing.

For $30 this game will blow your balls off. One of the best stories in a game I've played in a very long time. Put almost 90 hours in it before beating it. The game is so vast and gorgeous with memorable characters.

If I dont care about the extras, would this version be good enough? I have a ps5 and the director cut has "dynamic" 4k 60, idk if its worth waiting for that and paying a premium...

Once again waiting this one out. Was lucky enough to get a PS5, but Xbox game pass has me so busy, I will just let this sit. My PS5 has really just been collecting dust, because of the high price points for the current gen games on it. I always tend to wait Sony games that are single player to drop down as low as possible.

They made a directors cut. They want 30$ from existing customers or 70$ full edition.

That is why this game is now 40$ standard price. (40$+30$ upgrade matches the 70$)

The Director's Cut (though not out yet) appears to be glorified DLC.

You can happily purchase the base edition offered here and have an enjoyable experience. The base game itself received several free patches over its lifecycle, including the Multiplayer mode. You do not need the Director's Cut to enjoy those.

Got the base game for my Ps5. Runs at 4K (not sure if it's natively) and consistent 60fps in fidelity mode free of charge. My guess is directors cut bumps up effects and other visuals to go alongside that dynamic 4K 60fps
