Was there ever a deal in the past where they gave the 5 year warranty free with this TV at best buy? or do you always have to purchase the warranty?

I'd rather buy this at best buy just for that warranty since it covers burn in. but $600 is steep for a warranty

Can't wait for OLED to come down in price. I can't watch qled after OLED I don't know why some people think qled picture is better. Brighter yes no burn in definitely, but I am yet to see anything remotely close to five-year-old OLED

It's the exact same TV internals just with different model name for Costco.

From my understanding the PUA supports wireless audio.

The spec sheet from Costco says AUA is also WiSA ready,

Look at Audio section on page 2.

Never. The only way the warranty is cheaper, is when the TV is cheaper, since it's priced according to the price of the TV.

It's steep, but it's the best in the business. Costco may have Best Buy beat on just about everything. But warranty isn't one of them. Especially on an OLED

While this is a good data point for those in Washington, Oregon, or California, the other 47 states unfortunately cannot replicate as Video Only won't ship.

Is there some limitation of the Costco warranty that makes you say that? Have they explicitly rejected claims for burn in?

I'm asking only because Costco tends to be the most lenient and forgiving retailer when it comes to returns and warranties, so I'm surprised to hear they're beaten by BB.

AFAIK the wisa vs non-wisa thing came from some 3rd party website years ago, not from LG.

Also I've yet to meet anyone, ever, who actually uses WISA

Costco only covers what the MFG covers- which explictly excludes burn in.

The BB warranty explicitly DOES cover burn in.

That said- Burn in is a largely imaginary problem if vary content and don't abuse the set.

And the BB warranty is like 1/3rd the cost of the TV.... and only gets you one replacement per like 1/3rd the cost of the TV paid- which, if you keep abusing it the same way, you're gonna get the same failure on the replacement.
