Very solid phone. I moved to the 12 mini as I wanted 5G, but this iPhone is still very fast. I suspect the insanely fast 2D/3D was due to it only having to render an extended 720P screen.

The fingerprint sensor is still good to have, especially during a pandemic.

No sweat. Purchase the phone as a new customer and select "I need a new number". Use a different email address. Once you get the phone, activate, downgrade to $30/month and then chat with customer service to merge the new line into your existing account and then close the new line (confirm that the $180 balance has been transferred as well). All this can be done the same day you activate the new line.
I've done this 3 years in a row.

Sorry if this is been answered but I want to get this phone. If I downgrade to the $30 plan right away can I keep the $30 plan for 6 months and have it unlocked? So will it be $180 for the phone and 6 months of service at $30 a month? I'll also use a referral too on eBay.

Correct, when you downgrade, $180 gives you $30/month for 6 months. You can unlock 176 days after activation.
