$68.84 + tax for P5 500GB good deal? i'm waiting for hynix p31 but don't know when/if it'll be cheaper again. I think i'll pass on crucial. Reviews mention heat. I need one for a desktop now but in the future will move into a laptop. Don't want heat.
the 500GB P5 has been as low as $50-51 so the 1TB is a much better deal, the heat will be due to the DRAM - that's pretty much across the board

I have a 2TB Crucial MX500. It's been a great drive, would buy again.
I have a 2TB Crucial X8. That one sucks ass, would never buy again unless they can magically lower power consumption with a firmware upgrade. It uses QLC flash, which can slow down below HDD write speeds whenever you make a large enough transfer that fills up the cache. But that's only a side issue for me, the real issue is that the thing runs too hot when writing, and worse yet, it idles very warm. Might use it in winter when I actually need a space heater, but never during the summer.
